So why not make it free instead of just charging $2.99 you ask?

Two reasons:

1. People do not value anything given for free. Free offerings lack perceived value and I know I'm providing a lot of value for the price.

2. On all other platforms, I do not keep my content behind paywall. For example. none of my Medium content is behind the premium paywall. And that is by choice.
